In Year 5/6 the children are expected to: read to an adult daily; practise their weekly spellings daily (these are the "Y5/6 Spellings for the year" - when half terms are longer than the given 6 week schedule, children will be practicing spellings they have struggled with); and practise their times tables. It is important that all children in Y5/6 know all multiplication tables and their division facts so regular practise of these is encouraged through tasks on Hit the Button and TT Rock Stars. They are also expected to complete two Reading Plus sessions at home each week.
