E-Safety

Children and staff at Sharow CE Primary School are able to access the internet through the North Yorkshire County Council Learning Net on a variety of devices across school.

The safety of children when using the internet (eSafety) is of paramount importance to our school, and each year we take part in Safer Internet Day where our Digital Leaders promote safer online practice and share valuable information on keeping ourselves safe online. Our children also learn how to keep themselves safe online in computing lessons and whole school eSafety education.

We know parents and guardians will also want to ensure their children stay safe when using the Internet at home and elsewhere. There are many websites that offer advice to parents on the topic of 'keeping your child safe online', Click on the links below to find out more about internet safety.

This year for Safer Internet Day 2024 the theme was: ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’. Our amazing Digital Leaders created and presented an inspiring change presentation for the whole school (attached below). I think you'll agree we learned a lot from it. Here you can see them receiving an award for our whole school attendance of the online safety workshop ran by Tim Pinto.
