World Book Day

The children had a FANTASTIC day for world book day. They celebrated everything about the world of books through a range of activities.

Their costumes were fabulous and the children loved sharing their characters and props they had brought in.

In the morning we read two books. The Three Little Pigs and The Three Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig, after we had read these we talked about the similarities and differences between the two texts. It was really interesting to see how similar they were.

During the afternoon Class 2 joined us to have a storytelling workshop. Miss Tye shared out some story telling cards into our small groups. The task was to plan out a story based upon the cards you got! This was quite tricky because sometimes Miss Tye would give us another card with things like dragons, stink clouds or explosions on them.

Once our story plan was complete we created puppets and at the end of the day told our stories to the rest of the group - they were excellent!

Throughout the day we also had a bell. Every time the bell rang we had to stop whatever we were doing and Miss Tye would read one of her special stories to us. We loved choosing the different ones.
