Home learning tasks will be up-dated weekly on a Friday morning.
Spelling: An overview of the terms spellings will be stuck in the front of reading records. Each week children will learn a new spelling pattern and words to practice, including Y2 common exception words. Spelling test will be every Friday morning and the results of each test will be recorded onto their spelling overview sheet. Any incorrect words will be highlighted for further practice at home.
Maths: A short task will be assigned to reinforce the learning we have been focusing on in the classroom that week.
Reading: Our reading routine will continue to follow our Little Wandle phonics scheme. Children will bring home a share book which should be read to your child by a parent/carer. Children will also bring home their learning to read book that they have read with the class teacher or teaching assistant. Children should be able to fluently read these books with little support. *Reading records are to be used by parents; to comment in and record their reading at home. In school, I will be keeping a record of when the children read with an adult. A stamp will be added to their home reading records to show that they have read in school today.
