In our recent science unit we were learning all about rocks and soils. As part of our learning on soils we realised that not all soil was the same. They all have similar materials but different quantities make the texture different. To explore this further we went outside to collect soil samples from different areas. We then placed them into water to see the quantity of each material. Organic matter floated to the top whilst the stones sink to the bottom.
