Experience Day: A Woodland Walk

Our current writing topic is focused around the story 'Little Red Reading Hood' which is an alternative take on the traditional tale. So far the children have learned that Red needs to return an overdue library book and must set off on her journey through the woods. For our experience day, we went for a wonderful woodland walk in our nearby woods to immerse ourselves and experience Red's journey. The children had a great time exploring the sights, smells and sounds in the woodland and back in the classroom, they each came up withe some amazing alliterative phrases to enhance our writing.
